The Luke Family, by Stephanie Neal Photography- Great Salt Lake Supermoon

This was one of those sessions that just all comes together with a certain amount of planning, and a lot of luck + magic thrown in! I photographed this beautiful family last year at their new home in Park City, and they wanted to mix it up and go for a "different" look this year. After doing some location scouting we settled on a beautiful spot at the Great Salt Lake. If you're from the area, you probably know the lake is gorgeous at sunset, but also very "pungent" in the winter!! It took a good 45 minutes to adjust to the smell, but it was well worth it to get these amazing images. The inversion (pollution) in the air actually helps create jaw-dropping sunsets. As we were getting ready to leave, we were all surprised to see the biggest, most beautiful moon start to rise over the mountains and reflect off of the lake. It just happened to be the night of the "supermoon," and helped make this session one I will never forget.
