FAQ

What is a session fee?

A session fee is the charge for the photographer's time and talent, which includes any pre-shoot consultations, the actual session, and then several hours spent downloading and editing the images, and an in-person ordering session (online for out of town clients). The session fee does not include any prints or digital files.

How long will my session take?

A typical session can take anywhere from 1/2 hour to 2 hours, but if small children are involved I try and make it as quick and painless as possible! I don't have any set number of images that I take... I photograph until I'm sure that we have a beautiful selection in a wide variety of poses to choose from.

Do you shoot on location or in a studio?

That is something we'll discuss before the session. It is usually the same price for studio or location shoots within the Deer Valley, Park City, Midway, Heber area. For maternity and newborn sessions, I typically recommend a studio set-up, and for children and large families I usually prefer an outdoor setting. I take great pride in my locations, and have spent many years scouting out the most exclusive spots in Park City and surrounding areas. We'll choose the best one for your session based on our conversations, the time of day, and season throughout the year.

Where is your studio?

We are located in historic Heber Old Town. The 100 year old buildings provide a gorgeous backdrop for photos either inside or outdoors.

Why is your work more expensive than other local photographers?

Most clients who choose me to photograph their families do so because they appreciate and value high end custom work. I see all of my clients as individuals, and tailor each session to meet their specific requests. There is a tremendous amount of time spent capturing and perfecting each of my clients images, and it shows in our finished products. We offer unmatched retouching services, impeccable customer service, and the finest archival materials, so the products you order can truly be passed down for generations.

I'd like to schedule a maternity session... how far along should I be for my session?

Ideally I'd like to photograph moms-to-be between 30-34 weeks. At that stage you have all of the beautiful curves and pregnancy glow, but are still somewhat comfortable getting into different poses and clothing choices. If you're already past that point it's ok, we can still create wonderful images. Having had two children of my own, I know how amazing it is to have beautiful, artistic portraits to document this time in your life. These are some of my favorite assignments, and the creative possibilities are endless!

What should I wear for my maternity portraits?

However you feel most comfortable, whether that's "au natural" or wearing your partner's favorite button down. I also have a collection of gorgeous custom maternity gowns to choose from. We'll go over what photographs best during the pre-session consultation.

I'm ready to schedule a session, what do i do next?

Feel free to either fill out the form in the Contact section of the website, or call the studio (435) 657-0435 and we'll go over all of the details, clothing and location information, and you can pay your session fee to hold a date!
